Medici Quartet violinist Paul Robertson has died, after a long-term battle with heart disease - aged 63

British violinist Paul Robertson has died, after a long-term battle with heart disease - aged 63.

Mr Robinson had served as 1st violinist with the Medici Quartet since 1971 - and held teaching positions in Music and Medicine at the Peninsula Medical School and Green Templeton College, Oxford.

He recently published his memoir ‘Soundscapes: A Musician’s Journey Through Life and Death’  - available by publisher Faber and Faber.
