The Melbourne-based high-performance music institution is seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to fill the role, to commence in July 2023
The new Head of Violin at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) will provide exceptional violin pedagogy at Australia’s pre-eminent music performance training institution.
An ideal candidate is someone with an outstanding reputation and demonstrable success as a violin pedagogue, an inspiring vision for violin pedagogy, and an understanding and passion for the Australian classical music sector.
ANAM is also looking for a pedagogue who can develop chamber music and orchestral skills in young musicians, attract top violin students to ANAM, and identify talent and potential in applicants to ANAM.
The successful candidate will need to be based at ANAM in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia for a material portion of the year, especially during ANAM term dates.

The Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) is dedicated to training the most exceptional young classical musicians from Australia and New Zealand. With 60 students, it is the only professional performance training institute of its kind in Australia. Current ANAM violin professors include Dr. Robin Wilson and Zoë Black. Current students of Dr. Wilson at the academy include, Menuhin Competition top prize winners, VC Rising Stars Christian Li and Edward Walton.
ANAM accepts just 60 international-standard students in total and currently has partnerships with the Bavarian State Opera and the Berlin Philharmonic's Karajan Academy.
