Prizes Announced at the 2021 Princess Astrid International Music Competition
Open to violinists under the age of 31, Yukari Ohno from Japan has been awarded first prize

Held biannually, this year's final round was held in November 2021, in Olavshallen, Trondheim, Norway.
The first prize was awarded to 26-year-old Yukari Ohno from Japan. A student of Boris Kuschnir at the Music and Arts University of the city of Vienna, she will be awarded 160,000 NOK ($16,933 USD), a solo engagement with the Trondheim Syfonieorkester and Opera, a recital in Berlin in cooperation with the International Edvard Grieg Piano Competition, and a career consulting session with Unison Media founder Andrew Ousley.
The second and third prizes were awarded to 23-year-old Karen Su from the United States and 16-year-old Marie Helling from Germany/Poland.
The 2021 jury comprised Julian Rachlin (Jury Leader), Eldbjørg Hemsing, Arvid Engegård, David Pickard, Sophia Jaffé, Tanja Dorn, and Kyung Sun Lee.
