The 5 Finalists have today been announced at the 2018 Naumburg International Violin Competition – in New York City.

The 2018 Finalists are:

  • Danbi Um (South Korea)
  • Geneva Lewis (United States)
  • Shannon Lee (United States/Canada)
  • Stephanie Zyzak (United States)
  • Grace Park (United States)

The final round will be held on Friday the 16th of November.

Open to international violinists aged 18 and 32, the 1st prize winner will receive USD $25,000, two fully subsidized New York City recitals – plus a commissioned work by acclaimed Argentine-American composer, Mario Davidovsky.

Previous 1st prize winners include: Louis Kaufman, Robert Mann, Berl Senofsky, Joseph Silverstein, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Leonidas Kavakos, Axel Strauss, Frank Huang and VC Artist Tessa Lark.
