Prizes Awarded at USA’s 2019 Stulberg International String Competition

18-year-old American violinist Daniel Rafimayeri has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Stulberg International String Competition

18-year-old American violinist Daniel Rafimayeri from the United States has been awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Stulberg International String Competition – in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States.

A student of Paul Biss at the New England Conservatory, Daniel will receive US $6,500 - plus solo performance engagements with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony and the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra.

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 19-year-old cellist Nathan Le - and 19-year-old violinist Sory Park.

Daniel was also awarded this year's prize for the best performance of a work by J.S. Bach.

The 2019 jury comprised: Paul ColettiEmilio Colón and Jennifer Frautschi.

Founded in 1976, former prize winners include Joshua BellSoovin KimRachel Barton Pine and Jennifer Koh – and VC Artists Zlatomir FungBrannon ChoMatthew LipmanJi-Won Song and Benjamin Beilman.
