VC Young Artist Blake Pouliot Called to Replace Renaud Capuçon at Dallas Symphony

VC Young Artist Blake Pouliot will replace French soloist Renaud Capuçon for a series of upcoming performances with the Dallas Symphony

It has just been announced this week that 25-year-old VC Young Artist Blake Pouliot will replace French soloist Renaud Capuçon for a series of upcoming performances with the Dallas Symphony - due to an illness.

Blake will make his debut with the orchestra performing Brahms Violin Concerto, on May 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th - under the direction of conductor Pablo Heras-Casado.

“I am unbelievably excited to be coming to Dallas this weekend to make my debut with the Dallas Symphony … and I wish Renaud a speedy recovery …” Blake has told The Violin Channel.

“I am so happy to be stepping in and incredibly grateful to be performing the Brahms Concerto - and beyond honored to be sharing the stage with Maestro Pablo Heras-Casado,” he has said.

A graduate of the Colburn School, where he studied with Robert Lipsett, Blake is a former 1st prize winner at the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Manulife Strings Competition.

He currently performs on a 1729 Guarneri del Gesù – on generous loan from the Canada Council for the Arts Musical Instrument Bank.
