Today is Russian-born British violin virtuoso Viktoria Mullova’s birthday.

A protégé of Soviet legend Leonid Kogan, Ms Mullova is a former Grand Prize winner at the Jean Sibelius and Tchaikovsky International Violin Competitions.

She currently performs on the 1723 Jules Falk Stradivarius.
